Phishing
Phishing is an online scam where cybercriminals attempt to trick an individual into giving up their personal or financial information by pretending to be from a legitimate source. Phishing attacks can take many forms, such as emails, text messages, phone calls, or fake websites.
At SD Worx, we care about your security and privacy and internally, SD Worx has adequate cybersecurity measures in place to protect personal data. However, SD Worx cannot always protect its external stakeholders against certain outsider threats since they originate from outside the organization.
That is why it is important that you can successfully recognize and avoid phishing scams. Here are some tips and examples to help you stay safe online.
How to recognise a phishing message?
Always pay attention to the URL or sender of an e-mail. Fake emails are often sent from an incorrect address. But even if the e-mail address appears to be correct, be careful. Spelling mistakes and strange sentence structures can also indicate phishing.
For example, you can get a request which could appear to be from SD Worx. The scammers could use SD Worx branding information to make the request appear as genuine as possible which includes using email addresses that contains for e.g. @sdworx.be or SD Worx’s logo.
What to do in case you receive a suspicious message that appears to be from SD Worx?
If you receive a suspicious message that looks like it comes from SD Worx, do not click on any links, open any attachments, or provide any information. Instead, follow these steps to confirm the request with a genuine SD Worx contact.
